DDoSeR X is a small project I made a while back in Delphi 7, and it
seems to be relatively popular, as it has gotten almost 2,000 downloads.
What is DDoSeR X you ask? DDoSeR X is a hostbooter, a type of botnet
designed only for launching DDoS attacks. DDoSeR X is very nice because
all of the bots are controlled by a desktop application (pictured
below) instead of by an IRC channel. It looks almost like a RAT. The
main thread got over 9,000 views. We aren’t quite sure why DDoSeR X
caught on, but we can make some pretty good guesses:
Guess #1: Because it has a cool skin. Skids like look over functionality.
Guess #2: Because a similar program costs money. DDoSeR X is completely free.
Guess
#3: Because DDoSeR X has more functionality than the original source
code it’s based on. I added a nice download execute functionality
(which may or may not work) and a ping-pong feature that makes it SUPER
stable.
Guess #4: Because it hits VERY hard. You can pick off IP
addresses you don’t like with only a few hundred bots. 1k DDoSeR X bots
can create a traffic load that most corperate networks would have a
hard time handling.
